Ever wonder if there was a way to use a mobile device, such as an iPad, to increase field worker productivity in remote areas?

How about a mining site in British Columbia, Canada?

By gathering data using mobile devices, BGC Engineering has reduced the number of repeat field worker visits at remote construction sites and mines.

Field workers upload the data as part of an automated workflow on SharePoint, which notifies relevant stakeholders of the collected data - stakeholders in other locations. As a result, BGC has seen significant improvements in data accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer service.

Join us for this free webinar and see how Clint Logue of BGC Engineering:

  • Reduced hardware costs and improved user adoption putting the popular iPad to work in the field.
  • Deployed an integrated offline field data gathering solution with no custom mobile application development costs.
  • Improved data quality and accuracy, and streamlined the additional field finding request process.

More about BCG Engineering:

BGC Engineering, a leading Canadian earth sciences consulting company, has invested heavily in SharePoint to manage project assets. One of the main challenges of leveraging this investment in the field has been in bringing SharePoint to remote project sites without data connectivity so data was often captured using field notes and paper forms or with ruggedized portable solutions like toughbooks.

Leveraging Nintex Mobile and other Nintex products, BGC has deployed a suite of integrated data collection forms which are offline accessible on consumer devices like iPads. With Nintex, BGC simultaneously eliminated manual data re-entry and improved data quality as well as dramatically reduced the time needed before field findings were reviewable by project management staff in the office. Closing this information gap has allowed BGC staff to be more responsive to changes in site conditions, and immediately perform additional discovery without the need to re-visit the project site at a later point.
