Using Design Thinking to Create Successful Digital Transformation

“Projects related to technology and information make up six of the top 10 planned HR transformation activities in 2016. This reflects HR’s understanding that its future effectiveness depends on the ability to deliver more efficient, easier-to-use services and conduct increasingly sophisticated measurement and analysis.” (The Hackett Group, HR Executive Insight Study 2016)

The move to a digital workplace is top of mind for many HR professionals today. However, effectively creating that transformation can be challenging and risky. HR sits in a unique position to help optimize this change because of its connections to employees and, often, ownership of corporate culture. Those two elements, paired with a design thinking toolkit, have the potential to move digital transformation away from technology-only initiatives and firmly into a realm where the employee experience is at the center of the change.

Join us in this thought leadership webinar as Habanero Senior Consultant Caterina Sanders shares how HR can be instrumental during a transition into a modern digital workplace. Caterina will walk through:

  • the tenets of the digital workplace
  • how HR can apply design thinking skills to the challenge of digital transformation
  • a more specific instance of where design thinking and the digital workplace intersect: creating an engaging, yet repeatable and automated, experience to encompass your on-boarding activities.

Over her 17-year career in technology, she has worn a variety of hats as both a consultant and a leader. Regardless of her role however, experience design has always lain at the centre of her efforts – as a consultant, she has been an interaction designer, front end developer, project manager and account manager and as a leader, she has headed the User Experience team, the Employee Experience function and most recently held the Vice President position, overseeing Operations and Employee Experience. Under her leadership, Habanero has received several workplace excellence awards, including two first place years as the top small and medium Canadian business by the Great Place to Work® Institute.

She and her family spent last year on long term leave, in which they traveled around the world. This amazing experience left her inspired and eager to re-invent her career one more time: to return to consulting with a focus on the intersection of employee experience design, culture and people operations.
